This streamlined approach of an emergent curriculum supports educators to adopt child development theory and put into practice.
Our educational program is based on the premise that children are most successful at learning when curriculum experiences account for children’s interests, strengths, and individual needs.
The Collective encompasses all aspects of Little Scholars, including a collaborative approach with our children, families, educators, and community.
Our weekly programs, which can be seen in our studios, are responsive to the evolving interests and needs of the children and allow for flexibility and extended periods of play and research to test theories.
This enquiry-led teaching strengthens children to become competent and capable across their developmental domains.
The Collective allows educators to follow the children’s lead and actively explore new concepts, ideas, or interest.
Activity outcomes and individual observations on your child are documented in The Collective to assist in extending their skills and abilities.
Children have the opportunity for both indoor and outdoor play as part of each group’s routine. The outdoor area is an essential part of the learning environment for children. All age groups utilise our specifically designed playgrounds to test their co-ordination, balance, skills and strength.
Little Scholars School of Early Learning offers an extensive Transition to School program for children aged three to six years based on the National Early Years Learning Framework.
The Framework has a strong emphasis on play-based learning as play is the best vehicle for young children’s learning providing the most appropriate stimulus for brain development. The Framework also recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy, social and emotional development).
We believe the value of play is of utmost importance for children as it’s their way of learning about their world. While children are playing they are able to express their creative ability, release emotions, and can share their feelings.
We aim to guide your child in becoming an effective learner by creating an environment that is challenging and stimulating.
The Collective, our emergent educational curriculum, is aligned to our Little Scholars vision, mission statement, philosophy, and our play-based approach to children’s learning.
