Little Scholars George Street is our only campus in Brisbane city, and it is rated Exceeding the National Quality Standard. We opened it in 2018, on Level 2 of 400 George Street. The purpose-built campus has the largest indoor playground around: double-storey play forts, water play, vegetable and herb gardens, nature walks and 180-degree views of the Brisbane skyline.
Roma Street Parkland, the State Library of Queensland and the Queensland Museum are all within walking distance, and our Urban Kinder program takes children of all ages out into them, so the cultural life of Brisbane becomes part of their week. Back on campus, the design gives children a calm retreat from the hustle and bustle outside.

Explore the kindergarten programYes. Little Scholars George Street runs a Government-approved kindergarten program led by qualified early childhood teachers, preparing children for Prep. It runs inside the campus's 6:30am to 6:30pm day, so there is no separate kindergarten pick-up, and Free Kindy covers 15 hours a week across 40 weeks.
Kindergarten at Little Scholars George Street suits children aged 4 to 5. Some 3 year olds start a little early. It depends on the child, the numbers in the room and the waitlist. Ask on your tour.
Little Scholars George Street is an approved Child Care Subsidy provider, so most families pay well below the full fee. Bring your questions on the tour and the team will walk you through fees, vacancies and the subsidy. Or run the CCS calculator now; it takes a couple of minutes.
The CCS is paid directly to Little Scholars George Street and taken off your bill, so you only pay the gap. As at August 2026, families earning up to $88,520 receive a 90% subsidy, and families with more than 1 child aged 5 or under in care can receive a higher rate for second and younger children.
Every family eligible for the Child Care Subsidy now gets at least 3 days of subsidised care a week, no matter how much you work or study. It covers every child at Little Scholars George Street, not just kindy, and most families still pay a gap fee.
Free Kindy covers 15 hours per week across 40 weeks at Little Scholars George Street in the year before school. For 2026, children born between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022 are eligible, and hours beyond the free 15 can attract the CCS. Read more about Free Kindy at Little Scholars.
Subsidy rates and income thresholds are indexed each July and were last updated 6 July 2026. Figures are indicative; Services Australia confirms your entitlement.

Three policies govern how we keep your child safe: Child Protection, Child Safe and Wellbeing, and Providing Safe Environments. Everyone on our team completes the national Foundations of Child Safety Training, and does it again every year.
We run an internal Child Safety Squad and work hard at a speak-up culture, where anyone who notices something says something. Our Operations Manager, Melanie Excell, is a Queensland Children's Rights Ambassador.
If something worries you, tell us. Raise it with the George Street team and we'll act on it. You can also contact the Department directly, at any point, without coming to us first. Whatever you raise, we meet our reporting obligations. Every time.
Ask Mel about any of it on your tour. On this topic, no question is too blunt. Read our full approach to child safety at Little Scholars.

We acknowledge that what we do today, with how we educate and care for children, directly impacts the world of tomorrow. Amongst these curious little minds are future leaders, innovators, scholars, explorers, entrepreneurs and humanitarians – and we recognise the incredible honour we have of educating and caring for your child.
The first five years of life are crucial to the foundations of your childs’ entire life. At Little Scholars, we are committed to instilling the knowledge and skills that will allow them to succeed – no matter which pathway they decide to pursue.
This is why, across all of our campuses, we’re working with our families and educators to create a vision for what we desire the world to look like in 2036… when our Little Scholars aren’t so little anymore, but rather active members of the community.
We have a responsibility – now – to ensure we’re providing the best environment for the future generation to thrive.
The future looks bright – and it’s in our hands. It takes a village to raise a child, and we believe that our vision to create a better world can be realised.
