Little Scholars Ashmore provide early learning & care to these groups:
Nursery Rooms (0-2 Year Olds)
Our brand new nursery studio is a spacious and inviting environment for babies. It is designed with open planning in mind where the indoor environment flows naturally into the outdoor environment via our beautiful wooden purpose built deck. Natural light filters through our environment to provide a sense of calmness as the environment is light, airy, peaceful and comfortable. We have large floor to ceiling windows that allow children to play and explore all of their senses regardless of the weather. Our qualified experienced educators, take time to get to know the babies and spend quality time with them each and every day which helps create a sense of belonging and security which in turn supports the separation and adjustment to our education and care setting.
Our educators are mothers who are warm, friendly, loving and nurturing and therefore take the time to get to know families and children thus forming strong relationships with you. As relationships are important to us, so is communication, so time is taken every day to ensure conversations are had with our families, gathering information to support the children in our care. Our educators are respectful of routines established by families as it is important to ensure continuity of care through establishing predictable and similar routines at our service.
Junior Kindy (2-3 year olds)
Our Junior Kindy room has a beautiful outdoor area with a large verandah which allows us to have open door play giving the children more space to move and explore. We have large glass sliding doors allowing for lots of natural light, this opens up to a natural exploration yard with rock climbing, timber log balance beams, water tanks and breezy views. Out Junior Kindy spaces are well thought out and encourage children to take risks while developing critical skills for independence and growth. We have a very flexible routine allowing us to respect each child's needs. We encourage open communication with parents which helps us build more trusting relationships and the children feel safe and secure in our care.
The natural light in this room permeates and highlights perfectly all the art work and creations by the children. The program reflects the current interests of the children with a focus on arts, crafts and gardening. The program encourages the children to make choices that will develop their wellbeing such as healthy choices at meal times and following hand washing and sun smart routines.
Kindergarten Classroom (3-5 year olds)
At Little Scholars, we offer government approved educational kindergarten programs. We tailor our curriculum to specifically meet these growing needs and encourage qualitative learning whilst laying down strong foundations, which are so vital at this age.
Our curriculum is designed to address the children’s interests and to develop their skills. Our programming format is unique and is designed to address key learning areas including social skills, language, maths, investigation, creative pursuits, fine and gross motor skills, sensory experiences, cultural experiences and environmental understanding. In addition to this it addresses the outcomes as outlined in the Early Years Learning Framework. The Kindergarten program is taught by a Bachelor qualified Kindergarten teacher. This means your child remains in a secure, consistent environment where they feel comfortable from infancy until school age.
Each day has structure and routine and includes time for play, project work and also free choice. Every child’s progress is monitored by observation-based assessment and documentation. In addition, a portfolio of work is compiled for every child to capture their unique creativity and expression whilst regular communication with parents is maintained.
A Daily Journal is available at the end of each day and sent directly to you via our App, which documents the activities achieved throughout the day. Our educators are always willing to discuss your child’s day with you.
The children of the Kindergarten room enjoy a large playground, natural adventure yard with waterways, riverbeds, rock climbing, herb and vegie gardens and a sand/mud pit larger than a swimming pool. We have oversized raised deck areas with breezy views of the local area. There is a large open grassed area for children to play on that enhances their senses with the feel of natural grass. There are many opportunities for the Kindergarten children to explore their environments both inside and outside with their interests being a major factor in how environments are set up. We offer our Kindergarten children choice of activities and promote self-help skills to ensure they are learning skills needed for later in life.

Outdoor Play Area
Our unique, one of a kind nature playground offers a variety of learning experiences for children in a natural environment. We also have our garden spaces which features sustainable practices as we grow and eat our own vegetables and our children tend also to our beautiful garden bed. Our Vegetable patches and Rain Forest Walk encourage the children to nurture the environment with an emphasis on learning through exploration.
A nature walk weaves in and out of our large natural play ground where children actively explore the sprawling lawns, gardens and vegetable patches. Our sun safe yards incorporates our popular waterpark where children can explore, investigate and learn all while staying cool.
Sand play is always a popular experience for children of all ages; we have incorporated three different sand play scapes into our outdoor areas to ensure children of all ages have access. The Nursery Room and Junior Toddler room boast separate yards with their own sand pits and play equipment and gardens to ensure that all children are provided with fantastic outdoor learning opportunities.
Large mature trees in our yards provide cool shady spots for our daily story times and picnics, and our oversized timber decks are sprawled throughput the centre creating magical places for children to imagine and create whatever their minds and hearts allow.
